Industrial Services

Clearing the pathway to better business

Our industrial services are extensive and offer refineries, chemical plants, pipelines, storage terminals, utilities and steel mills the solutions needed for cleaning, purging, drying, displacing, cooling, leak testing, pressure testing and inspection of piping, furnaces, vessels, reactors and tanks. We also work with you to meet your needs for temporary supply of nitrogen, oxygen and hydrogen.

Blanketing gases such as nitrogen and carbon dioxide are commonly used as protective atmospheres in storage tanks and vessels containing flammable liquids or solids to prevent fire or explosion. These gases are also used to maintain a dry inert atmosphere to prevent corrosion of cleaned piping and vessels.

Whether you have a fired heater, furnace or pipeline that has become dirty or new piping that needs cleaning, we offer a complete line of cleaning and drying services that can be tailored to each of your individual projects. An engineering analysis will determine which option will meet your cleaning and dew point specifications in the most cost-effective way possible.

One of our most frequently requested methods is the SANDJET® service for internally cleaning pipe in both fired heaters and pipelines. Using high-velocity, nitrogen-propelled, non-hazardous cleaning materials, the SANDJET service is often the fastest method available for cleaning.

Reactors operating at elevated temperatures must be cooled down when the catalyst has become fouled. Our Nicool® reactor cooling services offer two ways to do just that.

A once-through cool down can be performed on any reactor. Cool gas is introduced into the reactor and flows through it to remove the heat from the catalyst, allowing it to be safely removed. If an appropriate recycle compressor is available, liquid nitrogen, controlled by our proprietary system, can be injected to cool the recirculating gas which then cools the catalyst. The use of this system can reduce nitrogen consumption to a third of what is needed without the recycle compressor.

Vishweshwar Industries nitrogen-assisted displacement provides a safe, fast and inexpensive means of removing product from a pipeline, whether for repair, product changeover or for product recovery when a pipeline is deactivated. In a single step, product is removed and the line is left dry and inert. Whether the line contains natural gas, crude oil, gasoline, diesel, liquid petroleum gas, ethylene or other liquid or gases, our detailed analysis of the line profiles and project conditions allows for the most efficient displacement.

Full Service Drying is a complete problem-solving package for drying process systems. When drying a process system with nitrogen, the use of our Mobile Nitrogen Pumpers can provide nitrogen at high flow (up to 600,000 scf per hour), high pressure (up to 6,000 psi) and high temperatures (up to 600°F, 315.6°C). These capabilities, combined with the -90°F (-67.8°C) dewpoint of nitrogen, promote efficient removal of moisture from process systems which translates into time and money savings.

Our Dry Air Service compliments the nitrogen pumping service and offers another alternative to drying process systems. This service can deliver 100% oil-free air at dewpoints as low as -90°F (-67.8°C) using multi-bed desiccant dryers. The flowrate of each unit is approximately 75,000 standard cubic feet an hour and multiple units are available, if required. Each unit can deliver pressure up to 125 psig, which allows for moisture removal by entrainment. All equipment is mobilized, operated and maintained by our personnel, reducing or even eliminating the need for customer site personnel during the drying process.

Damaged pipes not only leak gas but profits and productivity. That’s why we provide a comprehensive suite of accurate and reliable technologies and services that are designed to fit the needs and budget of your business, and are backed by the best experience and reputation in the industry.

The Tracer Tight® leak detection system is available for a wide range of applications, including aboveground storage tanks (ASTs), underground storage tanks (USTs) and buried piping. The Tracer Tight system is one of the most accurate and sensitive leak detection and location technologies available. This system is capable of pinpointing leaks to within a few feet. It even exceeds U.S. EPA requirements for precision testing for USTs.

We’ve also developed the SeeperTraceSM pipeline leak detection service for long-distance pipelines. It’s one of the only commercially available technologies that quickly and cost-effectively locate seeps in pipelines that carry liquids, gases or multi-phase products. A seep as small as 1 gallon per day can be detected — without service interruption or excavation.

And finally, our HeliTec® leak detection service quickly locates leaks in buried pipelines as well as plant piping and systems checks. The method uses a helium tracer in a gas, usually nitrogen, and a sensitive helium detector. The normal fluid is removed from the line, the line is pressurized with the test gas, and then the helium detector is used to sense the presence of helium in the air above the line.

New piping and vessels often need their mechanical integrity proven prior to use. Existing vessels and piping can require a similar test as part of an asset integrity program or for re-rating at a higher pressure. We offer both pneumatic testing and hydrostatic testing methods to satisfy these needs.

For existing piping and pipeline, we can also add a tracer to either gas or water to quickly and accurately locate leaks with our SeeperTraceSM leak detection service, allowing the leak to be repaired and the test completed without costly project delays.

We use nitrogen to safely purge potentially explosive fuel and air mixtures from vessels, transfer lines and equipment.

When your current supply of industrial gases are unable to meet the flow, pressure or temperature of your temporary requirements, or your supply has been interrupted with a fleet of pumpers, vaporizers, transports and tube trailers, we can help satisfy your temporary supply needs.
